One Week!

For those of you who don't know me (yet), my name is Chris LaPointe and I am the proud father of a newborn baby girl.  The past week has been a mighty challenging one for a first-time father and mother, yet it has given us valuable experience in raising a newborn child, experience I hope to share with the rest of the world.  I'm pretty sure that I won't be the best father in history, nor do I expect to be, but if through the words of this blog I help one single person in their similar journey of fatherhood (or motherhood), then I know this blog has served it's purpose.

Besides giving other's a glimpse into the wonderful (and stressful) life of a new father, I hope this blog can also be a way to strengthen the link my family shares with our new baby.  You see, my wife Rachel and I currently reside in Michigan, which is where she and her family grew up.  On the other hand, my family and all my relatives are from the New England area.  You may be asking yourself how my wife and I ended up together, but that's a lovely story for another time.  Anyway, since there's a 2 hour plane ride or 14 hour car ride separating my relatives from our family, I intend for this blog to supplement them with a plethra of information, pictures, and videos of our young and growing family.

That is all for now, but I will make it a point to update this blog as often as possible, for the benefit of all those who enjoy our family, a good laugh, or have nothing better to do with their time.  Au revior!

(Oh, and sorry if there are many typos... this new father has gotten very little sleep in the past week!)
